The Vision:
Enoteca Drago harkens back to traditional Italian wine shops and trattorias tucked away in bucolic Italian villages.
Cuisine:
Down to earth and pleasing to the palate, Master Chef Celestino Drago offers a progressive sampling of food and wine as homage to the mosaic of regional Italian cuisine with an earnest focus on rustic authenticity. A lifetime of culinary exploration culminates in a seasonal menu based on the simple joy of discovering a new favorite in the oldest, most beloved flavors of the cucina. Celestino uses only the finest of the imported ingredients and local produce to guarantee optimum quality.
The Restaurant:
Celestino combines the intimacy and comforts of classic Italian enotecas with his own personal touches of elegance. A central communal table of rich cherry wood encourages shared dining reminiscent of the Drago family's nightly celebrations around the hearth. Gently weathered stone, warm woods and terra cotta wind throughout the restaurant and bar. Down to the smallest and most modest appointments, no expense was spared - including importing Italian artisans to complete construction - in creating this inviting Beverly Hills spot.
The Menu:
Serving daily, the Enoteca Drago menu is signature Celestino, from salumi to artisanal cheeses from the preeminent Cheese Store of Beverly Hills, Piedmontese beef to freshly baked breads from the Dolce Forno Bakery.
Lunch Menu Highlights:
Pecorino and Mixed Greens; Salad of Green Lentils, Roasted Beets, Asparagus and Burrata.
Dinner/Enoteca Menu Highlights:
Mini Mushroom Ravioli with Foie Gras and Black Truffle Sauce; Stuffed Olives with Meat and Herbs; Warm Flourless Chocolate Cake with Stratciatella Ice Cream and Caramel Balsamic Sauce; Lemongrass Mascarpone Parfait with Apricot Limoncello Sauce.
The Wine List:
Enoteca Drago's traditional Italian wine bar with 250+ bottles and over 50 Italian wines available by the glass dovetails fluently with Celestino's cuisine. Each of the 20 regions of Italy produces its own array of idiosyncratic wines. Mixing and matching small plates of one region with wines of another is an educational, satiating opportunity for wine novices and aficionados alike. 2 ½ oz. tastings, 6 oz. glasses, quartinos and flights afford the ability to explore this myriad of regions.
